AROUND THE COUNTRY ROADS FOR CANCER – A ladies only run in aid of Cancer Research by the Traction Engine Club of Ulster. Over 100 ladies took to the roads in 2007 raising a tremendous amount for charity.
This DVD captures scenes from both the Traction Engine Club of Ulster and the ladies road duns in 2007. Footage of the tractors is interspersed with interviews with organisers and participants and beautiful scenery, leading to a wonderful finale when over £26,000 was handed over to cancer charities at the club dinner.
40 YEARS OF STEAM – The 40th anniversary rally of the Traction Engine Club of Ulster (previously the Irish Preservation Society – Ulster branch) was hld in Ballymena Showgrounds in July 2007, a new Irish record was formed with 43 steam engines on display.
Alongside the steam engines were pre-1930s tractors, vintage and classic tractors, vintage cars, motorbikes and commercials whilst the stationery engines provided a wonderful static display and insight into the past. Attracting exhibitors and spectators from all over the UK, ROI and Europe this event has widely become recognised as one of the best of its kind in Ireland.
This DVD gives an insight of the Traction Engine Club of Ulster, how it’s members aim to preserve and promote the machinery of the past and share these wonderful workhorses with a wide public audience.

Cooley Vintage Festival - World Record 2007 NEW (£12.00 ) |
| Sunday 5th August 2007 – a date anticipated by vintage enthusiasts around the world. This was to be the date of the Cooley vintage festival which was hosting the attempt to recapture the Guinness world record for vintage tractors working simultaneously.
Months of planning went into the organisation of this event with a great deal of debate going on – would they or wouldn’t they be able to do it ?
Nothing could deter the ‘die hard’ vintage enthusiasts from around the world converging on Cooley on that day – not even torrential rain on the night before and morning of the event. They came from far and wide to be part of it, all hoping to be able to call themselves record breakers before the end of the day.
This film chronicles the story of the event – the planning, the assembly of the machines on the site, the amazement of the organisers as entries just kept coming and coming and all the action on that most memorable of days.
It has been said by many that this record will never be broken anywhere in the world – that remains to be seen, but this production from Linton Film Productions has certainly captured a day in history which will be talked about for many years to come.
